Varying ways to affect spells

TO BIND- wrap in black thread, drip wax over, or seal in a jar and hide it in the dark.

TO BANISH- burn an effect to ash and sweep off the back door step, cast it out a window, or bury in the ground and spit on it

TO ENCOURAGE-  plant it by the front door/steps, bury by a window, or place it on a windowsill

TO HIDE- place in a jar painted black, cover with cloth and bury, or wrap with a ribbon

TO CLEANSE- bury it in a bowl of  salt, burn herbs and pass through the smoke, or lay it in a moonwater bath

TO GLAMOUR- leave under the full moon, hold its reflection over a mirror with herbs, or

TO WISH- place before a candle and blow it out, drown a coin in water, or let seeds blow into the wind

TO COMMUNICATE- (with a spirit or deity) - anoint a candle, leave out offerings, or open the front doors and windows

TO WARD- leave part of the spell in four corners, draw lines around the protected area, or plant an object of projection in the north, east, south, and west edges

TO CURSE- spit on it, drag your nails down it, or stick sharp things in it

TO DISCOURAGE - plant or bury by the back door, or burn to ash

TO JINX- say it three times out loud, or say a word the same time as someone else

TO MANIPULATE - use wax, use poppets, or tie several strings to pieces of an effect

TO BENEFIT - light a candle, charge a crystal, or create a talisman

This is not originally mine and came from a witchcraft 101 tumblr but I liked it and feel that it must be shared

Four Thieves’ Vinegar

Four Thieves’ Vinegar
-Empty Bottle or Jar
-Apple Cider Vinegar
-Lavender
-Garlic
-Sage
-Peppermint
-Rosemary
-Thyme
-Black Pepper

Add all of the herbs into an empty jar and fill to the top with apple cider vinegar. Shake thoroughly. Store in a cool dry place, shaking daily for 3-5 weeks, then strain and rebottle.
This is useful for protection, cleansing and healing.

Wolf's Bane

Wolf’s bane

Wolf’s bane is a poison and because of this it is extreamly useful in sympathetic magic, particularly in curses. Using a “elf’s bolt” off sharpened flint, dipped in Wolf’s Bane, one can stab a poppet of the intended victim.
*While I am not Wiccan, I advise against cursing people unless you have no other option, due to the fact that they could in turn curse you.

Wolf’s Bane is associated with the Greek Titan Hecate, as well as the planets Saturn and Mars.

Herbal Magic Introduction

Herbal Magic is pretty much what it sounds like. It is magic that utilizes herbs and their properties to gain a desired result. Here I will list a few of the most common herbs used in my personal BoS, and then daily will post about one new herb. Most of the herbs I use are for either protection or for sleep, as I suffer from chronic insomnia.
Herbs I commonly use include:

Lavender- useful for aiding sleep, also helps gain long life and wishes. It is also a protection herb (as are many other of my most commonly used).

Chamomile- another sleep aid, its also useful for money spells, gaining peace and tranquility, and purification

Sage- Protection and purification. Its a staple in many witches cabinets. It is also said to be able to be used in immortality rituals, and help grant wishes

Bay Leaves- another one that helps with protection. Bay leaves also help in divination and to inhance psychic powers.

Peppermint- Another protection and sleep aid. It is also used in love and passion spells, and for increasing psychic abilities.

Valerian- it is a powerful sleep aid. It is actually used in many over the counter sleep aids in Germany. It is also a calming herb despite its smell.

and last but not least

Lobelia- it is a heavy sedadtive and can be used in chaos magic.

Like I said these are only the herbs I most commonly use. All are actually ingredients in a spray i make to help me sleep. I will post a "Herb of the Day" everyday, starting tommorow with Wolfbane and will go into more details with these herbs when I reach them.
